On a night that began with a nice sunset and ended with sheets of rain, the Stratford Knights Varsity football team suffered their first loss of the season. The Knights were defeated by the score of 20-13 by the visiting Sumter Gamecocks. The win improves Sumter’s record to (2-1) , while the Knights drop to (1-1). The Stratford defense was able to force six turnovers in the contest, and the offense had success moving the ball but struggled to find the endzone. The Knights must regroup quickly as they face another tough opponent this week. The visiting Fort Dorchester Patriots will make the short ride over to Ray Stackley Field for a Friday night match up. The Patriots will come into the contest with a (3-0) record.
