The Stratford Knights Varsity Baseball team got off to a quick start against Andrews, and they never looked back. The Knights jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and the bats would continue to produce, leading the Knights to a 17-1 win. With the win the Knights improved to 2-0 on the year. Earning the win on the mound for the Knights was Senior Right-handed pitcher Jamison Mobbs who went three innings, giving up 1 hit and 0 runs. At the plate the Knights were led by Senior catcher Isaac Greer. Greer went 3-3 with a walk. He also drove in 6 runs, 4 of which came on a grand slam to dead center in the 4th inning. Junior shortstop JD Davis, Junior first baseman Justin Walker, and Senior right fielder Eddie Hiott also had big nights at the plate. Davis went 3-4 with 1 RBI and 4 runs scored. Walker went 2-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Hiott had a a 2-4 night with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Junior Chase Hughes pitched the final 2 innings, giving up 1 run and 1 hit. The Knights return to action Wednesday, as they take on Berkeley. The game will begin at 7:30 at Berkeley.
