The Stratford Girl’s and Boy’s Track teams took home 10th and sixth place respectively at the Sandlapper Classic held this past Saturday at West Ashley High School. The Girl’s team got good early season performances from their 4×100 team coming in 5th, the 4×400 team coming in 3rd, and the 4×800 team coming in 6th. Individually Zaria Dennis claimed 7th place in the 400M with a time of 1:04. Freshman De’avion Nesbitt claimed 10th in the 400M with a time of 1:05. In the 1600M Citadel signee Bethany Reeves claimed 9th with a time of 6:06. Also claiming a top 10 performance for the Lady Knights was Emily Muffley in the discus, with a throw of 77 feet 1 inch.
On the boy’s side KJ Givens led the way for the Knights. He claimed 3rd in the 110 High Hurdles and 2nd in the 400H. Terik Johnson also claimed top 10 finishes in both hurdles, with an 8th place finish in the 110’s and a 6th place finish in the 400 hurdles. Quaheim Duffus claimed a 7th place finish in the 100M with a time of 11.59, and Neveah Daniels claimed 9th in the 200M with a time of 24.28. Rounding out the top 10 finishes in the sprints was senior Javaris Barnwell, with an 8th place finish in the 400M with a time of 53.62. In the boy’s 1600M Eric Abdullah claimed an 8th place finish in a very competitive race with a time of 4:50. The boy’s 4×400 team claimed a victory for the Knights finishing in a time of 3:32. The Distance Medley relay team claimed 2nd, and the 4×800 team claimed 3rd. In the field events, Pole Vaulter Parker Mullins claimed 3rd place with a jump of 13’0″. Logan Mullins claimed 9th with a jump of 12’0″.
The track teams return to action this Wednesday in a meet at home with Ashley Ridge, Berkeley, and Woodland coming to take on the Knights.
