Stratford pitcher Nikki Linthicum was not deterred by lack of offense from her team, pitching a gym to lead the Knights to a 2-1 victory over Wando
Linthicum pitched seven strong innings to carry Stratford to the victory. She also came up clutch at the plate. With the score tied at one in the seventh inning, Linthicum came to the plate and singled.
Wando’s Alyssa Heinrich was charged with the loss. She lasted 6 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
Stratford pushed one run across in the fourth inning to start the scoring on a sacrifice fly by Kayli Lehmer.
In the sixth inning, Wando pushed across its only run of the day on a solo home run by Amber Watson.
The bottom of the seventh saw the score tied at 1 with Taylor Haffa at the plate. She reached on an error and was bunted over to second by Brooke Bodiford. Nikki Linthecum would single to move Bodiford to third and she would score on the throw to the plate, giving the Knights a 2-1 victory.
