The Athletic Trainers at Stratford High School are second to none. They work long hours, often with little recognition, keeping our athletes healthy and rehabbing them when injuries occur. Often mistaken for a personal trainer, Nationally Certified Athletic Trainers are a vital component of the Health Care team in athletics. They are often the first to see an injured athlete and the last to see them before they return to play. To become certified, Athletic Trainers must graduate from an accredited college or university, and pass their National Board Certification. In South Carolina licensing is provided by DHEC. Stratford High School is lucky to have two Certified Athletic Trainers on our sidelines. Mike Ryan and Ashley Chrestman provide our athletes with top notch care and rehabilitation. Coach Ryan is an employee of the Berkeley County School District and teaches Sports Medicine at Stratford. Coach Chrestman is contracted to Stratford through Trident Health. We thank them both for their efforts in keeping our athletes healthy and in the game.
