Hello, I hope everyone is doing well.
After being briefed on decisions made by the SCHSL and the district, I would like to provide everyone with an update and plan moving forward. Sports are going to return in phases and we are currently in Phase 1 of 3 (Phase 3 is full return to play/no restrictions).
Within Phase 1 there are heavy restrictions in regards to use of facilities, number of athletes in attendance, equipment, etc. There is also a limitation to conditioning only for the first two weeks starting today. That being said:
CONDITIONING STARTS TOMORROW: I’m attaching a PDF that includes a 4-Day (Tues-Fri) at home workout plan for anyone interested in trying out for volleyball to follow. There will also be a link with videos of each workout for the athletes to reference in order to perform each move properly and safely. I encourage athletes to push themselves, however, if they can’t complete the number of reps in the workout with proper form please do as many as you can and record your progress. The goal is to be in game shape for the start of the season.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
-Last year’s physicals are still good until July 31st. Please get an updated physical ASAP and turn it in to the school. Must have a physical dated past April 1st, 2020 on file in order to participate.
-Another announcement will be made next Monday, June 15th in regards to how to proceed once the two weeks of “conditioning only” has been lifted (ending Friday, June 19th).
-There aren’t dates set for try-outs currently as there are still many unknowns about the process of returning. I will be working to establish a plan as soon as information/guidelines allow and will share that ASAP.
-There is currently no time table for when we are going to start Phase 2. I will share that information as soon as I receive it.
-LAST: Volleyball touches are encouraged. If you have a volleyball please try and work with a friend, parent, etc. to get touches on the ball. I believe the Goose Creek Rec has open gym for volleyball for those able to attend.
If you have any further questions or concerns please let me know.
