Knights News · Away Games and Matches Against DD2 Schools Will Not Permit Spectators to Start Season

Due to increasing COVID-19 numbers Dorchester District 2 Schools will not permit spectators at their home events.

DD2 administration has made the decision that its three high schools Ashley Ridge, Fort Dorchester, and Summerville will play basketball games and wrestling matches without fans in attendance. This decision will be in place until further notice for DD2 sports.

Summerville High School Principal Kenny Farrell said, in a letter to parents, “In an effort to reduce the risk of exposure for our student-athletes, coaches, and spectators and in following the lead of other sports organizations, we will not be allowing spectators to our home basketball and wrestling matches to begin the season.”

The decision by Dorchester District Two does not effect Berkeley County home games or matches. Berkeley County is continuing to follow their reduced seating capacity limits that are already in place. DD2 has said that the games will be broadcast in some fashion. Once this information is made available, we will share it.

Fans are reminded about online ticketing for Stratford Athletic events, and are also reminded that once an event has reached capacity no one else will be permitted to enter.
