The Stratford Varsity boy’s basketball team got off to a promising start Friday night against Fort Dorchester, but went cold in the second and third quarters to find themselves in a hole they couldn’t get out of. The Knights fell to the visiting Patriots 77-41. Startford trailed Fort Dorchester 22-16 heading to the second quarter. The Patriots would go on an 18-3 run into the half to take a commanding 40-19 lead at the half. Fort Dorchester would keep the pressure on, going on another run out of half time, outscoring the Knights by 15 points in the third quarter. The teams would play an even fourth quarter. With the loss the Knights drop to 1-1 on the season. The Knights were led by Senior Deandre Johnson who chipped in 15 of the Knights 41 points. Senior Kamal Whaley scored eight points for Stratford, and Telvon Coakley picked up eight boards to lead the Knights in rebounding.
