Rick Blanchard is Berkeley County School District’s Coordinator for Gifted and Talented, Advanced Placement, and World Languages. Rick came to BCSD from the South Carolina Department of Education, where he was the lone Education Associate for Gifted and Talented, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate Programmes. He is an adjunct professor and the current president of the South Carolina Consortium for Gifted Education. Rick has been awarded the Richard W. Riley Award for Gifted Service for achievements in gifted education that have had a national, regional, or statewide positive impact. He was college Board's Leroy Fails Awardee, which recognizes an individual whose service and leadership at the regional and national levels have continuously advanced the mission of the College Board and who has demonstrated significant contributions and service by advocating equity, access, and opportunity for all students.
