Stratford High Athletics

The Varsity Baseball team overcame a late two run deficit to defeat Lucy Beckham 3-2 on Tuesday night. The Knights improve to 4-0 in the region with game two of the series scheduled for Wednesday at Lucy Beckham. Jacob Deacon got the start on the mound for the Knights. The Senior righty went 6 innings giving up two runs while striking out 8. Junior Jachin Davis pitched the seventh earning the win for the Knights. He struck out the side in the top of the seventh. Dom Longello would provide the winning hit for Stratford, scoring courtesy runner Kaiden Skinner from second. The inning started with Jameson Lee reaching on a single and Jarrett Wagner sacrificing the runner into scoring position. The Knights look to claim the series on the road tomorrow night.
